On the morning of September 4th, Russians launched a missile strike on Lviv. The Ukrainian Air Force had reported the movement of cruise missiles towards the Lviv region. Before the strike, explosions were heard in Lviv, and air defense systems were active.
As a result of the strike, residential buildings caught fire, and numerous windows were shattered in the area of Konovaltsia, Brativ Mikhnovskyh, and Melnyka streets.
Seven people were killed, and another 45 were injured in the attack.
In particular, a mother and her three daughters were killed in their home at 44 Konovaltsia Street. The only surviving family member is the father.
The search for the injured and deceased is still ongoing.
At one of the locations, the debris is very deep, with 6 meters still left to clear. Rescuers are working in a confined space, and there may still be people trapped there.
Вue to the overnight attack, at least seven architectural landmarks of local significance in Lviv's historic area were damaged. As a result, Lviv will be reaching out to UNESCO.
