The visit will include meetings with key high-level speakers from various fields for firsthand experience, explaining contexts and answering complex questions, as well as the possibility for creation and publication of joint content, based on personal stories of Ukrainians and expert discussions.
The two focal directions are the resilience of Ukrainians and the European integration of Ukraine. The preliminary topics of expert meetings and content will cover: multicultural Ukraine, agricultural Ukraine, tech/digital Ukraine, volunteering Ukraine, investing in Ukraine, the defense sector, creative industry, local gastronomy, local culture, EU integration, and Russian disinformation. Within 3 days of the visit selected participants will attend high-profile meetings in Lviv and Kyiv with leading independent experts, public officials, journalists, academics, businesses and civil activists, as well as will have time and support of the local colleagues to hear the untold personal stories of Ukrainians, that might become a source of Ukraine coverage ideas or help understand Ukraine better.
Within this project we aim to build a deeper conversation between the European and Ukrainian audiences on the topics of Ukraine's EU integration, tell the wider audience of the EU the stories of Ukrainian resilience and what Ukraine can bring for the EU, as well as build a cooperation between journalists/media on collaborative reporting from Ukraine.
“I had a great time sharing experiences about the daily life of a local newspaper during the war. What Tvoe Misto does is to adapt not only economically, but also to serve the democracy with new initiatives. It also helped me to have a better understanding of Ukrainian society. I did appreciate the diversity of the contacts: culture, economy, history… For those who worry about visiting a country devastated by the war, Lviv is also a quite secure place”, – Patrice Moyon, Ouest-France.
Organization of the visit is supported by the Prague Civil Society Centre. Travel costs, accommodation, meals, on-the-ground meetings and journalism support, as well as full insurance, will be covered by the organizers and its partners.
